The poems are arranged in themes. Poetic techniques such as personifications, similes, metaphors, rhyme and rhythm are explored in detail. Special project units provide guidance on compiling a poetry anthology and writing original poetry based on models. The unit 'Poets and Their Poetry' introduces students to three poets who have demostrated a particular rapport with young people: Michasel Rosen, Robin Klein and Peter Dixon.
